![]() ![]() I even tried the net use cmd from the CLI - same deal -no surprise - it wants a network password but I have no idea where it is getting it from. You could use the configuration I set up in that to run it but I kinda stripped down Windows 3.11 as far as I could. I set the C: up for sharing on the Win 3.11 VM - can see from the host - cannot access it even though I use the password that I configured it with when I set it up ? I have sharing set up going both ways and can see both machines from the other (host > guest guest > host) I can not move files because I keep getting prombted for a network password that I have no idea what it is. Still I want to share files between the host and the VM. img img file of Netscape I could use a virtual CDROM or floppy - but no luck with that. I can connect the CDROM to other VMs (Linux, Windows 8 etc.) but even though in this case Work Satation 8 indicates the CDROM Drive is connected - correct drive letter etc. THX just the same - I am pretty familure with what is on page 107 - it just won't workwith win 3.11 - not sure VM really supports wIN 3.11 fully - maybe ? ![]() Right the physical CDROM drive is on the host - tried to connect it to the WIN 3.11 VM but the WIN 3.11 does not see it. I set network detection on and turned of passwordprotection on the host still - get access denied I set the user ID and Password on the host and Win 3.11 login the same and use the user password - still no go I tried the Windows homegroup password - no go I build the path to the CDROM and a prombt for a "network" password I see my Windows WORKGROUP network with my host PC. I disconnected the physical drive and tried Windows for WorkGroups. I tried connecting the physical drive E: to the Win 3.11 VM via settings - no joyĢ. User ID and password are identical on both the host and Win 3.11ġ. I set up the CDROM on the host for sharing andgave permission to the the user ID that I log on to Win 3.11 with I can ping the host from the VM - so I know I have network connectivity. exe file on a CD on my CDROM Drive on the host. I have Widows 3.11 up and running on Work Station 8. ![]()
